PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
I am currently working at Babbage Consultants in Auckland, as a Facade Engineer. This role consists of reviewing architectural detailing and documentation and providing feedback to architects on the proposed design.
From 2020-to 2021 I was in my final year of my Master of Architecture (Professional)/MArch(Prof) at the University of Auckland. My thesis examines the notion of migration and the movement of people and cultures that have resulted in cross-cultural references within the built environment.
During 2018 - 2020, I had the opportunity to gain experience within architecture practice, and I have also worked as a university research assistant on inter-faculty projects. Recently, I contributed as a first-year architecture studio design tutor during the Covid-19 pandemic, where we were challenged to rapidly adapt teaching methods from face-to-face sessions to conducting virtual classes using multiple digital tools.
In 2019, I was extremely fortunate to participate in the ‘Studio Seville Study Tour to Spain and Morocco over five weeks, facilitated by the School of Architecture and Planning. Over the course of the tour, we studied Moroccan, Spanish, and Islamic architectural design at the Universidad de Sevilla, in Seville.
CAREER OBJECTIVE
I am eager to gain professional experience to develop my design understanding of public architecture and its role in
representing diverse populations. I would like to eventually obtain registration as a professional architect.
